Creative Arts

The Creative Arts K-6 Syllabus comprehensively sets out a rationale for the inclusion of dance, drama, music and visual arts in the curriculum. The artforms offer students opportunities for creative action, aesthetic pleasure and emotional response in the expression of personal and cultural values and beliefs. Students learn to communicate ideas through understanding and using the conventions of the symbol systems or language of each artform.

Learning in the arts

Learning in the arts is underpinned by a belief that all students are able to learn the skills, knowledge and understandings as expressed in the content and outcomes of the syllabus. Furthermore, all students have a right, a curriculum guarantee, to opportunities that will enable them to achieve the outcomes.

Roselea Senior Choir

The Roselea senior choir for 2008 is made up of 35 selected students from Years 5 and 6. They rehearse every week for the primary goal to perform at the end of the year in the Epping Music Festical along with 8 other local schools. The festival hosts a mass choir of 300 students who have all been working on the same songs, and each school also contributes a separate music item such as dance groups, bands and various ensembles. The experience of regular rehearsals and performances are a valuable part of the students' music education, and the experience of performing at large venues in front of huge audiences will surely endure as one of those memorable times they had in primary school.
